About Me

Maggie Haskins

Founding Director

We all have a story to tell. Your story has the power to impact and change someone’s life for the better.

For more than 30 years I have been working hard to live purposefully in helping others transform their lives for the better, spiritually, financially and physically. Building a legacy for the generation to come is what drives me daily and helping others do the same. I love promoting wellness as I believe that true wealth, is good health.

The number seven is significant to me for the following reasons; Firstly; because it is God’s perfect number, secondly; I am the 7th child out of 10 siblings, and thirdly; I was born on the 7th. The number 7 has become important to my children and of late to my grandchildren.

I got married at the age of 18 to the love of my life George, and gave birth to my first son a month later. By the time I reached 24, I was a proud mom of 3. (Sylvester, Mark, Fallon) Needless to say, getting married at a young age as well as having 3 kids in such a short space of time was challenging but in hindsight, it built me into becoming the woman that I am today. I am also a proud grandma/glamma as some call me, of 4, (Mikael, Zoe, Kaleb, Mason) who will go out of her way for her family and others and refuses to use the word, ‘I can’t’, in her vocabulary. A perfectionist at heart and seldom settles for mediocrity

Having worked in the corporate world for 38 years, I transitioned into building my own brand and business in 2017. This has been my dream for a very long time and it took a prophetess from Los Angeles (Ashabi Perkins) in 2016, who did not know me from a bar of soap to awaken and confirm what I have always wanted to do. She named everything I am busy with today, step by step and there was immediately a fire within that fired me up and confirmed my dream. I always spoke to my mom about my dreams and she encouraged me to pursue it. I went to design/dressmaking school part-time in 2003/4 but quit as I left to pursue a part-time degree at Wits in International relations and Applied Economics which I obtained in 2010.

I was a loyal servant to one company for 33 years, so I know all about loyalty. My boss looked at me in disbelief in August 2017 when I tendered my resignation and asked me to rethink my decision. I knew that my season there had come to an end and I was looking forward to start working on my dream. I loved working with this company and always said that should I leave them, it would be to start my own business. Thank God that dream has been realised and today I am the proud trademark owner of “MyStoryMyStrength, and Maggie’s Beauty Palace.” I took a giant leap of faith leaving the comfort of a high paying job that allowed me to travel and see the world but all that was not enough to fulfil or put out the fire in me of seeing my dream come to pass. Some of my work colleagues knew what my dreams and aspirations were and one colleague once remarked that, when I spoke about my dreams, my whole face would light up.

Integrity is at the top of my list. Preserving my integrity is first and foremost as I would like to look at myself in the mirror and always feel good about the life I live. The late Dr. Myles Munroe once said, “the graveyard is the richest place on earth because there lies the dreams of many”. I thank God daily that my lifelong dream has come to fruition. Psalm 112 has been my daily affirmation since 1993 and I hold firmly onto the promises of the Word. Building a legacy and a good name is better than any riches, but I definitely do not mind the riches as well. This is only the beginning, and the best is yet to come!
